The sweetest breakfast for the one(s) you love. Back to Nature Granola gives these cute lil' heart-shaped danishes a lil' extra crunch.
Ingredients:
- 1 17 oz box puff pastry frozen pastry dough
- 1/2 cup plant-based cream cheese
- 1 Tbs flour
- 3 Tbs cane sugar
- 1 cup strawberries, finely chopped
- ½ cup Vanilla Almond Agave Granola (or pick your favorite flavor!)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Allow puff pastry dough to thaw per packaging instructions. Press heart-shaped cookie cutters into the dough. Press firmly and set aside on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Once all the hearts are pressed, using a fine-tipped knife cut a smaller heart indent around the perimeter of the hearts without cutting all the way through the dough. Alternatively, use a size smaller heart-shaped cookie cutter to make the indent. Using a fork, gently prick the inside heart a few times.
- In a small mixing bowl, mix together plant-based cream cheese, flour, and sugar. Once thoroughly mixed, coat the interior heart with this spread, making sure to leave a clean crust on the edges of the heart.
- Top the cream cheese mixture with finely chopped strawberries, followed by Vanilla Almond Agave Granola. Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust and granola is golden brown. Remove from oven and enjoy.
